Her research leads her to stories—about children who received wigs, teenagers’ effort that led a wig company to collaborate, and even a boy who grew his hair long despite being teased. “We all hope that one day, the world won’t need wigs anymore.” These words, spoken by a beautician who leads the program, spur readers to think about discrimination based on appearance.
