Book List “Bookshelf for Tomorrow” (Ashita no hondana)
Since 2019, JBBY has been working on listing recommended books requested by juvenile training centres and youth homes. This list has finally been published under the title “Bookshelf for Tomorrow: A Book List Connecting Children and Youth with Books”. The selection comprises 175 titles organised in two volumes: Volume 1 includes books with attractive covers that every child – even those who are not used to reading – will want to pick up; Volume 2 includes books addressing children who are more familiar with books and will enjoy reading further.
An online seminar was also held to explain the purpose of the list and how to introduce the selected books.
