Mutsuki is in Year 4 of elementary school. When the groups for an overnight field trip are being decided, she suddenly finds herself shunned by Komari and other friends, and put in a group with an oddball called Ishimaru. Even after the trip, she continues to be ostracized by Komari and the others. She feels increasingly lonely at home, too, as her mother is really busy with work, but she tells her mother how she feels and is understood. Reflecting on her own attitude, she plucks up the courage to ask her friends why they are shunning her. Then Ishimaru tells her that it’s okay to make mistakes. We can see Mutsuki’s mistakes and the way she overcomes her problems portrayed realistically. (Doi)
