herself inside the curtains. But then, when she stays grumpy, her body puffs up like a balloon and flies right out the window, into the sky! This is the first picture book in ten years from a creator who empathizes with young children’s ineffable feelings of frustration. She expresses them in light lines and soft colors, adding just the right humorous words. Tetsuko Puu remains fiercely stubborn even while flailing through the sky, but in the end, she manages a small smile and returns to her mother’s arms.
