Chika is in the fourth grade of elementary school. One day, a boy named Akito, who has lost his parents and guardian, comes to live at her house. Being an only child, Chika is looking forward to having an older brother, but when they meet, she is not sure what to do because Akito is so particular about cleanliness. At first, Chika is thrown off balance by Akito, whom she calls the “clean freak alien”, and she boils with frustration, but gradually the two of them learn to see beyond the differences in their feelings and perspectives to recognize each other’s good points and develop a bond of friendship.
