自分には友だちがいないと思っている一平が、周りを見ながら友だちについて考える絵物語。一平は、妹や両親や祖母にいっぱい友だちがいるのを見て自分とは違うと思う。そして、いつもひとりの祖父には友だちがいないと思うが、実は祖父には過去にブラジル人の友だちがいた。一平は、「せかいのカメ展」で同級生に出会い、一緒にプラモデルを作り、この子とはずいぶん違うし、いろいろ合わないけれど、ちょっとだけ友だちかなと思ってうれしくなる。多様な友だち関係があることが短い文と親しみやすい絵で表現されている。（土居）

A Little Bit Friends
An illustrated story that follows the thoughts of Ippei, who believes he’s friendless, on what it means to be a friend. When Ippei sees how many friends his younger sister, parents and grandmother have, he thinks he must be different. It turns out that even his grandfather, who looks like he has no friends either, once had a close friend in Brazil. At an exhibition on Turtles of the World, Ippei runs into a classmate, and they get together to build plastic models. Although the two boys are very different and disagree on many things, Ippei is overjoyed to realize that they are “a little bit” friends.
