The author of this book was largely benched for three years on his high school soccer team in Japan, before he attended a German soccer school. He was fascinated by how Germany nurtured local teams all over the country, with league games for children through adults and opportunities for anyone and everyone to participate. He decided to move to Germany and, while studying German, he obtained a license to coach soccer there. After that, while teaching children to play the game, he also enjoyed playing it as an athlete, and he even became a writer who specializes in soccer. His autobiography recounts the uncertainties and encounters that led to living his dream life with soccer. (Okuyama)
