A picture book that urges both people who use sign language and those who don’t to take an interest and enjoy conversation. The simple, cheerful illustrations depict two boys, one who is deaf and one who is a hearing child of deaf adults (CODA), playing together with things like paper airplanes while communicating in sign language unique to Japan. The margins under the illustrations show not only how to express certain words in sign language, but also provide information related to sign language, expression and actions. It uses creative means to make the book easy to use, including QR codes linked to sign language videos and an index in the appendix. Most significantly, it conveys the
