The Foxes of the Hatsune Family
Yui, Takumi, and Moe are the children of a fox mother and a human father. One day, their mother’s brother, Uncle Yashamaru, arrives at their home and tells them that some of his girlfriend Mitsuba’s relatives consider it problematic that he has human relatives. The three children are indignant. Then three elders from Mitsuba’s family disguised as humans turn up at their house to investigate, boasting that they are the distinguished Hatsune clan who have guarded and passed down the Hatsune drum since the Heian period. The interactions between the distinctive characters from the fox world and Yui and her siblings are delightful, while the mystery-solving elements keep the reader hooked.
