Uta will soon be a big sister. She decides to ask the animals in the forest what she can do for her baby sister. She makes a mailbox and takes it to the forest, asking the animals to put letters in it with ideas. Many animals put in letters with their suggestions. “You can take your baby sister to a meadow full of flowers,” “What about going on a boat together at night?” “It would be nice to make the baby a hat.” Uta falls fast asleep, relieved to know there is so much she can do as a big sister. The charming story is perfectly complimented by the soft touch and warm colors of the illustrations. (Sasaoka)
