5年4組の子どもたちは毎朝、期待に胸を膨らませて登校する。「卵の孵化プロジェクト」がたのしみだからだ。卵が孵化して鶏になるまで、みんなで世話をするのだ。時には失敗したり、友だちを傷つけたりすることもあるが、卵を温めるようにお互いを理解し、温かく包みこむことで、子どもたちは支え合うことを学んでいく。子どもたちがみずから解決し、ぶつかりながら、自分自身の「殻」を破って成長していく姿を美しく描いた物語。

Please Take Care of the Tiger
Every morning, the fifth-grade students of Class 4 arrive at school filled with anticipation, eager to get on with the Egg Hatching Project. As they watch over the eggs, their friendships deepen as well as they learn to navigate misunderstandings and hurt feelings, and to support one another with the same care they would give to a chick within its shell. This children’s story beautifully illustrates how youngsters learn to confront challenges, resolve conflicts independently, and grow as they break through their own shells.
